JakobsenRED has chosen single LED technology, using one powerful 5-watt LED with a focused lens for each wavelength. In our view — and according to several professional sources — single-wavelength 5W LEDs may provide more precise, more concentrated light emission and therefore potentially better tissue reach.

By contrast, dual LED solutions combine two wavelengths within a single LED, typically with 2 × 2.5W output. This design may result in a less focused light distribution, meaning that irradiation intensity and uniformity may fall short compared with dedicated single LEDs.
